President Liu Jiren Addressed at World Management Forum

Oct. 2, Dr.Liu Jiren, chairman and president of Neusoft Group Ltd., China, was invited to take part in the Fourth Nikkei World Management Forum held in Tokyo, Japan. Dr. Liu gave a speech titled "New Strategic Alliance between Sino-Japan IT Enterprises" at the special forum on Sino-Japan enterprises cooperation. Liu Jiren stated that the development of China software industry was not a threat, but on the contrary a good opportunity for Japan. There was great potential as well as bright prospect for the cooperation of Sino-Japan IT enterprises in the IT field. As long as China and Japan IT enterprises trust each other and mutually complement their respective advantages, they are sure to create a win-win situation. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Japan diplomatic relations, Dr.Liu Jiren's speech gave confidence and inspiration to the hundreds of Japanese entrepreneurs at the forum and also pointed to the future of friendly cooperation between Sino-Japan IT enterprises.

The Nikkei Forum has set up a special symposium on "how to grow together with China enterprises in the era of China new economy." In the upsurge of the 30th anniversary of Sino-Japan diplomatic relationship establishment, the cooperation between China and Japan IT enterprises has become a subject that has drawn great attention from Japanese enterprises. As one of the two Chinese entrepreneurs invited to give speech at the forum, Dr.Liu Jiren has unique and profound insight in the future cooperation in software with Japanese enterprises to achieve a win-win situation. His insight is based on his successful leadership of cooperation with international IT companies, Japanese companies especially, through ten years of development at Neusoft. That Dr. Liu was invited to Japan's most influential international business conference indicates that Neusoft, on its way to globalization, is gaining acknowledgement from overseas public opinion and that the growing power of China software industry has drawn attention and interests from overseas enterprises.

In his speech, Dr.Liu Jiren discussed the current situation, mode of cooperation, existing problems, future cooperation basis and resource-complementary win-win model for Sino-Japan software industry cooperation in the backdrop of IT industry globalization. The speech was considered the first direct dialogue on IT cooperation between Chinese and Japanese software industry entrepreneurs and it adequately charted the development opportunities and promising blueprint for Sino-Japan software industry cooperation.

Dr. Liu Jiren believed that positive opportunities for Sino-Japan IT cooperation outweighed the challenges. The development of China IT industry is never a threat to Japan but rather a beneficial mutual complement of resources. Only by effectively allocating resources across national boundaries, can enterprises truly boost their competitiveness on the global market. In the course of Sino-Japan cooperation, both parties should have a long-term vision and establish mutual trust so that they can find out the limitation existing in present cooperation and make bold improvement on the present cooperation model and strategy to achieve greater development. All in all, as economic globalization has inevitably resulted in changes in the operation mode of enterprises, cooperation is more important than competition and active adaptation to the changes is a necessary step toward success.

The Nikkei World Management Forum is composed of the symposium on Sino-Japan cooperation held on Oct.2 and the symposium on innovative enterprise management and power of leadership to be held on 28-29 this month. The other Chinese entrepreneur Mr. Liu Yonghao, president of Hope Group also gave speech at the symposium held on Oct.2. Nearly 500 audience attended the forum, 70% of whom were CEOs, decision-makers and members of BOD. There has never been an international business conference comparable to Nikkei Forum in the size of audience and content of the forum.
