Developing Information Industry is a strategic project for Rejuvenation of Northeast

Dr. Liu Jiren addresses in the International Proseminar
on Rejuvenation of Northeast and Northeast Asia Cooperation

[September 25,2004 Dalian-China] Dr. Liu Jiren, Chairman & CEO of Neusoft Group, addresses this afternoon in the International Proseminar on Rejuvenation of Northeast and Northeast Asia Cooperation. He points out that Liaoning Province should impel the equipment manufacturing's development by information industry, combined with its advantages in equipment manufacturing, geographical position, talents, etc., meanwhile, facing the international market, develop software&information services to contribute to the economic structure adjustment and industry revolution.

Dr. Liu Jiren considers that, information technology will have great effect on the development of northeastern economy. The industrial products will be embedded with much digital and information technology and the large hi-tech equipments will be integrated with new digital technology, which can make them much more competitive; Information technology will improve the manufacturing management level, which can achieve sufficient information to raise the resources using efficiency and strengthen the combination between resources and market.

Liu Jiren points out, Liaoning has a very good condition in developing the information industry. First, there are good education facilities in Liaoning, which cultivate a large amount of talents engaged in the software and IT services every year. Another is a good cooperative foundation with Japan, Korea in the field of IT. These above will bring the new opportunity for development of Liaoning and the Northeast.

The key of developing software and services is IT talents' cultivation, Liaoning province should regard it as the foundation of developing software and services to bring up the human resources facing industry development of IT. There are good education facilities in Liaoning province, besides dozens of universities, the software institute of the whole province rises to 10, the students at school are up to 14,000, which have established intelligence and talent's foundation for the fast development of industry.
