Minister XuGuanhua of National Science and Technology paid an visit to Neusoft

At 9 on Oct.22, Minister Xu Guanhua of National Ministry of Science and Technology, accompanied by Vice Governor Xia Deren of Liaoning Province, and provincial and municipal government officials paid an inspection visit to Neusoft Group Ltd. The Chairman and President of Neusoft Group Ltd. Dr. Liu Jiren presented a work report to Minister Xu through advanced videoconference system and Internet facilities. Afterwards, Minister Xu states that the National Ministry of Science and Technology will strengthen its supporting efforts to promote Neusoft's digital medical industry and will strongly promote the development of China's digital medical industry. Meanwhile, he hoped that Neusoft will not only establish its enterprise brand but also establish several well-known software product brands and thereby becoming an internationally competitive software enterprise.

Through the video conference system and internet at the customer service center of Neusoft Park, Dr. Liu Jiren reported to Minister Xu on the progress of Neusoft in digital medical equipment and in software export. Minister Xu called for increased focus on the development of Neusoft digital medical industry. Dr. Liu said that it has been many years since Neusoft began to engage in the research and manufacturing of digital medical imaging equipment. Neusoft so far has four categories of digital medical imaging diagnosis equipment, namely CT, MRI, X-Ray Machine, Color Ultra-Sonic Scanner. The CT has the second largest sale volume next to U.S. in domestic market, the MRIs have been exported to Vietnam this year, and Spiral CT exported to Afghan and Turkey. The production method of "Virtual Manufacturing" adopted by Neusoft for digital medial imaging equipment manufacturing was spoken of highly by General Secretary Jian.

In terms of software, Neusoft has recently achieved a lot in the industries of social insurance, telecommunication, and electric power. Neusoft occupies more than 40% of the market share in China's social insurance field, 30% of the market share in the business fields of billing SMS and customer service offered by China Mobile, China Unicom and China Netcom respectively. In the electric industry, Neusoft has developed a whole set of solutions for power generation, supplying and selling. With respect to software export, Neusoft has taken advantage of its long-term experience with Japanese companies to launch extensive cooperation in the immense Japan software industry. Neusoft invested in building Neusoft Dalian International Software Park, and will cooperate with the CA Company in the binding sale of products . Neusoft is striving for a software export of US20 million dollars this year and aims to reach US40 million dollars in exports next year.

Minister Xu agreed with Dr. Liu Jiren's report and said pleasantly, "I have been paying close attention to Neusoft and the achievement you've accomplished, and I feel more uplifted after listening to your report."

Minister Xu said that digital medical diagnosis equipment is of great importance to the well being of the people. Indeed China has an extremely huge potential market. Vice premier Li Lanqing has said several times that the ministry of science and technology emphasized the development of a domestic digital medical industry. And therefore, it has been selected as one of the few key projects supported by the ministry. The minister expects that Neusoft will have a roadmap and plan for developing China's digital medical industry and be able to propose explicitly the support it needs from the Ministry. This support may come in the form of policy-making, government purchase with focus on domestic enterprises and the co-ordination with financial organizations to implement the buyer's credit system. In terms of the development of digital medical equipment, the Minister hope that Neusoft can develop digital medical imaging equipment that is more suitable for the purchase ability of cities below county level and more suitable for the consuming level of the populace. If that can be achieved, the potential benefits are limitless.

Through ten years' development, Neusoft has grown into a leader of China's software industry. It is hoped that while establishing its enterprise brand, Neusoft will put efforts to develop and bring about several well-known brands. Furthermore, Minster Xu hopes that Neusoft will exert more effort on software products and services.

After the report, Minster Xu and other visitors paid a visit to the "Virtual Manufacturing Center" of Neusoft Digital Medical Co., Ltd., where they visited the workshop for Neusoft digital medical imaging equipment and watched the on-site demonstration of domestically-made Spiral CT, MRI, X-Ray Machine, and the Color Ultra-Sonic Scanner. Minister Xu inquired about the equipment while observing them carefully and once again emphasized that The Ministry of Science and Technology's desire to exert key effort to support the development of Neusoft's digital medical imaging equipment industry.

The other government officials who accompanied the Minister to Neusoft included the party committee members of the Ministry of Science and Technology, director Shang Yong of Science and Technology Daily News Agency, General Secretary Shi Dinghuan of the Ministry of Science and Technology, director Li Jian of High-Tech Department, Director Du Zhanyuan of Development Planning Department, Director Zhang Xian'en of Fundamental Research Department, and government officials from Liaoning Province and Shenyang City including Qi Wenbin, Wei Wenduo, Liu Xiaodong, Yang Zhonghua, Zhao Changyi, Huang Zhifeng, and Li Mengling. People from Neusoft including senior vice president Zhao Hong, vice president Li Jun, President Assistant Zhao Dazhe and General Manager Jiang Genmiao of Neusoft Digital Medical System Co., Ltd. received the Minister and his companions.
