Open innovation showcases our constant pursuit for new business innovations in order to construct continued, rapidly-growing technologies and business models.

We have set up a double-layered R&D system at the company and division levels within the organizational boundary. Alliance with our partners has proved an effective way to build up capacity centers.

NeuSA

NeuSA™-Neusoft Solution Architecture is a framework for solution effectiveness. It is a solid practice of open and collaborative innovation. By systematic reuse, knowledge sharing and transfer, as well as competency development, we continue to reinforce our comprehensive competitive advantages to innovate and deliver competitive solutions with quality, time-to-market and productivity effectiveness.

NeuSA™ consists of six interrelated and interactive areas. Among them, five contain best practices in the areas of products and technology, process, method and tools, competency development, knowledge management and center of excellence. The sixth area provides support in terms of organization and execution.

Products & Technology

At Neusoft, we stick to a technical strategy that values systematic reuse of all resources in building application solutions. Based on open, standardized technologies, we have built a corporate-level reusable application support platform for fast delivery of solutions including unified system architecture specification, industry reference architecture, reusable assets, and unified enterprise application architecture platform. ITA (Information Technology Architecture) for industry-specific solutions, ETA (Embedded Technology Architecture) for product engineering solutions, RAB (Reusable Asset Base) Center, and UniEAP (Unified Enterprise Application Practices) are the most important assets among them. Based on these reusable assets, we have built micro-vertical core business platforms and industry-specific accelerators to create a solution map. These assets also help enable enhancement and standardization of our integration with third-party products.

Process, Method & Tools

Following reusability-oriented development and risk-driven approach principles, we have constructed the Neusoft Unified Process (NUP). Referring to industry best practices and our own experience, NUP consists of a unified process framework and a method library, providing guidance of processes, methods, and best practices for software development through a set of process documents, guidelines, specifications and templates. Through expansions at both the infrastructure and feature levels, it offers comprehensive support to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Project Portfolio Management (PPM), Enterprise Architecture Planning, and Software Product Line Engineering. A wide range of methodology sets are created for various project scenarios such as core asset development of product lines, project implementation of product line-based or non-product line-based projects, enterprise architecture planning, and ICDC (Information Centric Data Center) implementation. Also, in order to strengthen process applications and promote best practices, tools used for the entire software development life cycle can be standardized and customized for different scenarios.

Competency Development

According to our master technology architecture, methodology and business requirements, we have developed an individual competency model in compliance with our corporate culture and core values. This model contains five dimensions, including leadership, industry expertise, technology, methodologies, and communication. It aims to help employees map out their own career paths at five different levels: orientation, depth, breadth, domain and vision. It promotes a progressive career path, starting from project involvement, architecture design, solution planning and expert consulting up to business innovation. Each business unit defines skill maps according to its own business characteristics and creates case-based training tutorials with a variety of courseware. The gap between existing competency and the target is assessed on a regular basis. In addition, guidance and assistance are offered to employees to make feasible competency development plans. There are also a wide range of options to facilitate implementation of each plan including project internship, mentor system, on the job training, guided self-study, e-Learning platform, and on-the-job degree study.

Knowledge Management

We encourage and engineer a culture of learning, sharing and reusing. Knowledge portals, technology journals and reusable assets are offered to ensure fast acquisition and sharing of knowledge and expertise among employees. Knowledge maps help employees find solutions in order to solve problems rapidly and accurately. We utilized various interactive platforms for communication and learning, such as technology forums and regular topic-specific workshops, in order to shape an innovative culture. Eventually, knowledge flows throughout the company smoothly to help us improve operating efficiency.

Center of Excellence

We have established a corporate-level center of excellence mechanism across business units for centralized management of technical expertise. The mechanism provides a platform for sharing and reusing common methods and technologies, exploring new methods and technologies, and solving key technical issues with joint efforts. Two types of competency centers focusing on common methods and specialized technologies have been established within the company. Some competency centers are co-established with our partners to pursue in-depth, wide collaboration for win-win results. All business units may use the resources of these competency centers to facilitate their own business growth, which then helps the company as a whole, to best leverage our overall technical strength.

Organization & Execution

To ensure successful implementation and execution of every activity in each practice area of NeuSA™, we have developed a Technical Community of Excellence (TCOE) program to establish relevant organizational structures, operation models, and differentiated evaluation mechanisms. This program helps shape an environment emphasizing systematic reuse, knowledge sharing, and competency development. We continue to assess strategy execution periodically based on our Organizational Technology Capability Model to identify weaknesses for sustainable improvement.
